Yog Mandala, 109 Wells Road, Totterdown, Bristol, BS4 2BS (map)
I invite you and your family to join me for this second Family Kirtan session in Bristol.
By repeating simple mantras, Kirtan (devotional singing), is an effortless way to still the mind, awaken the heart and transform emotions. This joyful practice is great for families as it creates a loving, compassionate and non-judgemental space. For parents it can act as a meditation, a de-stress and a mental reset. For children (of any age) there is the opportunity to simply be, to sit quietly, to sing or be noisy and run around! All responses are honoured. This will be a fun session open to all families with children of any age.
Tim Chalice has been leading chanting for over 13 years and has children aged 9 and 12. He has used this practice with his own family from birth to now. It was especially effective at getting them to sleep and calming them when they were very young. Tim ran a class called Bhajan Babies for 5 years, introducing chanting to parents and babies.
"Tim Chalice is a chanter for the people. His heartfelt tones inspire an immediate sense of coming together and an earthy spirit. Tim is highly original in his approach and you just want to join in at once as he wholeheartedly draws you in to the chant!" - Nikki Slade, Free the Inner Voice
